Day 11

Well, I wish I could say that today started out good...I knew that dang cookie was going to hit me -- but I didn't think it would hit this hard.

I'm starting to doubt this Wii a little bit. I mean, it's nice and all, but according to my scale, I'm down 6 lbs since the challenge started (and I'm just going to have to take that instead. I haven't been keeping up with my weight loss but I know I'm losing. I've got such a long way to go, but at least it isn't the 100 lbs that it used to be that I had to lose.

Breakfast
Life cereal and 1% milk -- 160 calories (3)
water
Parker helped me eat this bowl of cereal :(

Lunch
I saw these on an end cap at Walmart the other day and figured I'd try one...I must say, it was pretty good and was almost better than their normal TV dinner's because it's steamed (single serving). The only thing I don't like (and what will stop me from buying it again) is that I can't recycle the bag (I can recycle the box and tray in the traditional boxes).

Lean Cuisine -- 280 calories (5)
Fruit 2 day -- 110 calories (2)

L called and he's working a double shift tonight. I'm not sure what I'll cook for dinner. I'm kind of tired of cooking squash but I still have SOOO much left to cook. Who knows...I always wait to see what I'm in the mood for. I'm bored...boredom usually leads to me eating. I've already taken several trips to the kitchen in search of something to eat but I've stopped myself. Now that P is done with lunch and his nap, I think I'm going to leave the house for a while. I might have to hit up Starbucks this afternoon when P and I take a trip to Target. I really like their Caramel Frap (lite) and at only 130 calories, it's not bad for a 'suck through a straw snack.'

Dinner
I'm not usually one who goes for 2 TV dinners in one day. Mainly because they are loaded with sodium and generally are not the best thing for ya...but this was pure laziness (and the fact that P was still sleeping at 7pm when I was hungry). While I ate my Smart Ones, I grilled up some squash.
Smart Ones -- Ziti something (6)
Zucchini squash -- no idea: 100 calories (2)

meanwhile...P wakes up and wants dinner. So I get a cup of Dark Chocolate mousse

Day 10

I cannot believe that we're almost done with the 14 day challenge (will we keep going??)! I'm about to head out for A's birthday celebration without the kiddos (we're going to a movie--Killers) but wanted to get something going for those of you waiting for a post [all three of you who read this]...pictures later on.

The Wii greeted me today with a nice 2.2 pound loss since yesterday (185)...even with that dessert Applebee's. I bet that mess hits me hard tomorrow. It always takes a couple of days for bad eating to hit me. At least I'm back to just being overweight for now [not obese again].

Breakfast
Life cereal and 1% milk -- 200 calories (4)

ignore the cup of grapefruit...I didn't take a picture of my cereal this am

Lunch
PF Deli flat with tuna (regular mayo and dill relish) -- 270 (5)
bowl of watermelon -- 100 (2)

Afternoon snack
Cherry ICEE (3)
not my picture...forgot to take one

Dinner
did you really have to guess??
I ate a whole squash (about 1/3 fried and 2/3 grilled) -- gonna estimate 400 (8)
left over veggie chili -- 150 (3)

points consumed -- 25
points remaining -- (-1) I feel the need to start adding if I go over

Day 9

So, the day started off like any other day...nothing big going on today. Had to take the dogs to the vet, L and I did a little shopping, and eating...but that's further down.

If you remember, I've had some issues with the Wii, but I am pretty sure that these results are as accurate as they can be at this point. I'm back to being obese, but I've lost weight [0.7] since Friday (I had apparently gained weight but I wasn't sure because of the 11 pound loss the day before so I didn't take a picture)...anyway.

As promised, here's my squash pile...
Breakfast
Going against recommendations from Tina, I decided to try a "Fruit 2 day" and was actually impressed. She hates it because it tastes like 'liquid snot', but I dig the texture and flavor.
Breakfast sandwich -- 200 calories (3)
Fruit 2 Day -- 110 calories (2)

Lunch
L wanted to go to Applebee's for lunch because we get 10% cash back. I wasn't too upset because they have a WW menu that I can order from. I tried...look, the punk ordered my favorite dish!

in true Tina style...my leftovers

Look what punk face ordered for dessert [10% cash back excuse]!!
I admit I ate a bunch. (guessing 10 pts.)

Dinner
grilled squash/1 fried squash -- approx. 200 calories (4)
broccoli and cheese with rice -- 110 (2)
L was a bit hesitant about a completely vegetarian dinner...again. But afterward, he said that he thinks I should research veggie meals and serve at least one a week. I think I'm going to shoot for at least 2 a week. We've discussed going vegetarian lately [not vegan] (he's reading a book that mentions how eating meat is bad in more ways that we know--and he believes everything he reads). Neither of us can completely give up meat but since he's open to the possibilities of a semi-vegetarian diet, I'm open as well.

Day 6, 7, and 8

I've been out of town the last 3 days. I had initially planned to blog while I was gone, but I didn't have ANY internet connection in Vicksburg (phone or computer). Let's scratch V'burg off the list of places to move. Hehe...Anyway, counting down

Day 6
My goal was to get on the road early so I knew I wouldn't have time to make a super nice breakfast...although looking back, I could have. Once I arrived in V'burg, food was literally put on my plate for me and no matter how many times I said no, I was not respected. I did not take a picture of my meals on days 6 and some of 7 because it was completely awkward but I will list what I remember eating.

Breakfast
Slimfast chocolate royale milkshake (Silk, ice, Slimfast) -- 200 (4)

Lunch
2 small fried chicken bites (ketchup)
more fried squash than I could keep up with (kept being shoved on my plate)
chocolate cake (I asked for a small piece and got a big one)
small spoon of mashed potatoes (I'm sure they were loaded with butter and whole milk)

Dinner
lots and lots of grilled squash (seasoned with olive oil, sea salt, and pepper)
pasta salad with shrimp (she claims it had very little mayo...hmmm)
banana pudding (about a cup)

points -- no friggin idea
bonus points -- probably all gone

Day 7
Breakfast
food was waiting on me...but I fixed my plate and did not allow any extra to be put on it.
grits (1/2 a cup)
eggs (probably 1.5 eggs)
1 sausage patty
1 biscuit with a tsp of homemade jelly

Lunch
Turkey
sliced cucumbers with lite Italian
squash casserole (squash, cheese, eggs, onions?)
some sort of crab stuffing
green beans
cabbage
grilled squash (not pictured because it was thrown on my plate after I was finished)
banana pudding

afternoon snack
I ABSOLUTELY HAD TO HAVE ONE...we don't have a Sno Biz in TN
small (kiddie) orange with cream -- 260 calories (5)

Dinner
leftovers (nothing more than what you see)
squash casserole
turkey
honey dew melon
banana pudding

points -- see day 6
Bonus points remaining -- absolutely none

Day 8
Today was a traveling day so I had anticipated that eating would not go well. We got up and out the door by 8:30 this morning. Had to take my car by the shop because the check engine light came on for the trip down and well, since we spent the time to fix the air, might as well ahve the car checked. Found out that my brake wire (or something, I'm totally not car savvy) was causing the check engine light to come on and also was why my cruise wasn't working. They didn't have the part (and it wasn't unsafe to drive) so I was on my way back to Memphis.

Breakfast
Special K chocolate drizzle bar -- 90 calories (2)
bottle of water along the trip

Lunch
Subway Seafood 6" on wheat (no cheese, pickles and black olives) -- 450 (10) healthy...ha! what was I thinking...oh yeah, it was a moment of weakness because it was mom's favorite.
Lay's Light -- 75 calories (2)
finished P's apples -- ?? not counting them
sweet tea -- needed the caffeine (2)
I made a special and totally inconvenient trip to Subway in hopes of eating a bit healthier. Picture me with a 16 month old, my purse, his diaper bag, toys falling out of the car, kid screaming, etc (didn't take a picture, sorry)...but all with healthy eating in mind. P refused lunch...apparently subway is not his thing (too much bread if you ask me -- oh, and he hates slimy things).

Dinner
Have I mentioned that I came home with a ginormous bag full of all kinds of summer squash...you name it, it's in the bag. Yellow squash, patty pan squash, zucchini squash...

this isn't an actual picture of my bag o'squash...I'll take one for tomorrow's blog.

Anyway...back to Dinner
leftover veggie chili with a small bit of 2% cheese-- 250 calories (6)
squash...lots and lots of squash -- no idea...gonna guess 200 calories (4)

total calories consumed -- 26
total remaining -- (0)
total bonus remaining -- 34

tomorrow I'm going to get back on the scale and see how bad my weekend was...L is off work so I'm sure we'll probably go out to eat somewhere...stay tuned.

Day 5

I've been mom to two kids today...add my neighbor's 3 year old to the mix and it makes for an interesting day. Needless to say, I've been busy...

I got on the Wii this morning right before K got here (I was literally weighing when they were walking down the street) and found this...

um, Houston, we have a problem.

It took a while (fought with K and P over the Wii) but I figured out that I was weighing on a different surface than normal (quilt on the living room floor). When I put it back on the floor, my weight went back to normal. There was a loss, but because of all the craziness and numerous times I weighed, I'm not exactly sure what it is at the time (not quite a pound). Note to those who are trying to lose weight...red meat and Chinese food (or foods high in salt) causes your body to retain water. If you have a meal of red meat, you're probably going to have a weight gain the next day.

Breakfast
bowl of Life cereal -- 120 calories (2)
1/2 cup 1% milk -- 50 calories (1)
small cup watermelon -- (0)

Lunch
Lean Cuisine Lobster Ravioli -- (5)
bowl of watermelon -- (1)

Afternoon Snack
I had a MAJOR craving for chocolate...
1 cup sliced strawberries with a squirt of Rediwhip -- 50 calories (1)
Chips Delux Gripz chocolate chip bites -- 120 (3) DANG U 5 grams of fat!
I would never have a 4 point snack...I should have checked points before I ate those things.

Dinner -- TBA

total points consumed -- 13
total points remaining -- 12
toltal bonus points -- 8.5

Day 4

Well, if you remember a post I had several days back about how I was cocky with my weight loss [when I was pregnant] because I knew I could lose 5 pounds easy...try 6.

LOOK!! I'm no longer Obese!!

I'm down 6.6 pounds since this "challenge" has started. I was well aware that the food I was eating was both too much for me and bad for me (i.e. no breakfast; sandwich/tv dinner, chips, dip, cookies; 2nd helping on dinner, 2 pieces of bread, desserts high in calories and fat).

Anyway, on to day 4...

Breakfast
PF deli flat breakfast sandwich -- approx. 200 calories (3)
(1 egg [Egg Beaters], 2 slices of OM pre-cooked bacon, 1/2 slice of 2% cheddar cheese)
1 cup watermelon -- approx. 50 calories (1)
8 ozs of Silk is pictured...but I can't make myself drink a glass unless it's blended in a shake so I put it back and replaced it with water. (0)

Lunch
Veggie Chili (I'm the queen of leftovers) -- 230 calories (5)
skipped the Fritos (0)
2% cheddar cheese -- 90 calories (2)
1 dollop of Smart Balance sour cream -- 30 calories(1)
1 cup sliced strawberries -- 50 calories (1)

I eat when I'm bored...it's usually bad though.
1 bowl watermelon -- approx. 100 calories (2)
1 cup Jello Mousse -- 60 calories (1)

2 tortillas, 2% mexican cheese, tablespoon beans, beef
1/4 cup salsa -- 25 calories (0)
1/2 cup watermelon juice -- (0)

total consumed points --26
remaining points -- 0
remaining Bonus points -- 8.5

Day 3

well, I gave up on Xanga so here I am...

in case you want to go back to the other blog for days 1 and 2 or for my weight loss journey up to this point, click here!

Anyway...it's day 3 of the conscious eating challenge and I can say that this seems to be a pretty good source of motivation for healthy eating for me. I enjoy blogging...I enjoy taking pictures...why not combine the two. I definitely would not be able to pull this off if I was working (I don't know how Tina does it).

Day 3 started off with a quick visit to the Wii Fit board-man.
I drank a liter of water last night before bed...I think that [and the fact that I peed all night] helped in the .7 lb weight loss!

Breakfast
instant grits -- 130 calories (3)
1tbs Kraft bacon pieces -- 25 calories (0)
16g of 2% cheddar -- 45 calories (1)
water

Lunch
tuna sandwich (PF Deli Flat, 1/2 can tuna, mayo) -- approx. 175 calories (4)
BOWL of watermelon -- approx. 100 calories (2)
2 Flintstones Vitamins

total points consumed -- 23
total remaining -- 2
Bonus remaining -- 9.5

I LOVE WATERMELON!

I saw the

Morningstar Farms® Meal Starters™ Grillers® Recipe Crumbles™ product in Target during my last trip, threw it in the basket and brought it home cause I am a sucker for quick and easy meals. Who doesn't want to save time by not browning meat. I was a little hesitant about how Louis would react (I was pretty sure I'd like it) so I didn't say a word to him about it. I had the "beef" already cooked and in the skillet when he got home from work so he never even noticed. I thought the flavor was pretty good to be honest and will definitely buy it in the future. The bag says that there's about 80 calories in each serving (the bag equals a pound of beef) and 5 servings in the bag. If you were to compare those nutritional stats with even the leanest beef out there, it couldn't compete. My goal is to try to buy it at least 2 more times before I clue Louis in. My guess is that he won't notice when it comes to spaghetti and chili but I'd be a little hesitant for other meals unless I knew the "beef" was really doused in some kind of sauce. It's got me thinking though...with that beef substitute, spaghetti squash instead of pasta, and simple sauce, spaghetti would probably be a pretty low calorie meal. [can I just say I absolutely prefer spaghetti squash over pasta but Louis doesn't care it more than once a month]
